If you renewed your vehicle registration directly through your state’s motor vehicle authority, a partner like AAA, or a self-service kiosk, your digital plate will update automatically once the state finishes processing the renewal.
State processing is not instant. Until the renewal is fully finalized in the state system, your RPLATE may continue to show the previous expiration date even though you’ve already paid. In some states, required steps such as emissions or smog certification must also be cleared before the registration is considered complete.
As long as there are no outstanding items shown in the Reviver app, your plate is eligible to update as soon as the state record is available.
What to check to ensure the update reaches your plate
Open the Reviver app and check the home screen.
If the app shows outstanding items, follow the on-screen instructions to complete them.
If the app shows no outstanding items, no additional action is required for the registration itself.
Make sure your phone is connected to the RPLATE via Bluetooth, as this is required for the plate to receive updates. If pairing is needed, the app will clearly prompt you on the home screen and guide you through the pairing steps.
Once the state renewal is finalized and the plate is connected, the updated registration will be delivered automatically. If the app shows the correct registration status but the plate has not refreshed after sufficient time, contact Reviver Support.
