Using a Reviver digital license plate requires two separate things to remain active and compliant.
Vehicle registration (paid to the state)
You must keep your vehicle registration current with your state’s motor vehicle authority. This is the same requirement as a traditional metal plate and is paid directly to the state.
Reviver Service Plan (paid to Reviver)
The RPLATE is a connected device and requires an active Reviver Service Plan to power its connectivity and features. Owning the plate hardware alone does not include this service.
An active service plan allows the plate to communicate wirelessly, receive registration updates, support stolen vehicle and detached plate reporting, enable display changes, and power other connected features.
If a service plan expires, the plate will continue displaying the last valid image it received, but it will no longer update or support connected features.
Prepaid service plans from dealerships
Some customers receive prepaid service when purchasing an RPLATE through a dealership. In these cases, a 1-year, 3-year, or 5-year service plan may be included at no cost.
Once the prepaid period ends, the customer must select and pay for a new annual service plan in the Reviver app to avoid interruption.
Service plan options
After any included or trial period ends, service plans are selected and managed in the Reviver app. Available features depend on the plan selected and the state your vehicle is registered in.
Essential
Provides core digital plate functionality, including digital registration tags, detached plate and stolen vehicle reporting, light and dark display modes, and access to a standard list of banner messages. Registration renewal, battery replacement, and transfer of ownership are available for additional fees.
Plus
Includes all Essential features, plus free digital registration renewal, up to 12 custom banner messages, and free battery replacement (customer responsible for applicable shipping and fees). Geofencing support is available on wired plates.
Premium
Includes all Plus features, plus unlimited custom banner messages and emojis, free transfer of ownership, and free battery replacement (customer responsible for applicable shipping and fees). Registration renewal is included at no additional cost.
Billing and renewal
Service plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled in the Reviver app. You can view, change, or cancel your service plan at any time through the app.
